The Rolex Submariner 6536/8 was introduced less than a year after the launch of the first Submariner, reference 6204, making it a key transitional model in the Submariner's early history. Rolex developed this reference as part of an effort to incorporate the new caliber 1030 automatic movement across its entire Oyster Perpetual lineup, replacing the older calibers. This example features the rare high-case "8" profile, giving it a more substantial presence on the wrist. Its deep red glossy dial with gilt lettering and 100m = 330ft depth rating is exceptionally rare and highly collectible. Additionally, it retains its original Mercedes radium hands with the long hour hand and its original bezel insert, which notably lacks the track from 1 to 15, a characteristic of early Submariner models. A true "James Bond" Submariner, the 6536/8 embodies the evolution of Rolex’s dive watches and remains an important piece of horological history. Completely original and in remarkable condition, this timepiece is an exceptional collector’s find.
